Properties
PET is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic engineering plastic with very low water absorption, excellent dimensional stability and good slip properties.
Furthermore, PET offers good wear resistance coupled with very high strength and stiffness.
Processing
PET can be machined with conventional machines and tools. PET can be processed in numerous ways, e.g. turning, milling, sawing, planing, drilling or waterjet cutting. The material is used among other things in parts that must withstand higher temperatures or high mechanical loads.
